Two major European defense and space companies are to invest in new facilities in Germany, one of the hottest markets for space and defense. Integrasys is to open a new office in Germany, appointing Kristian Kuhlmann as head of Germany and director of Sales.
Based in Berlin, Kuhlmann will be responsible for driving business development activities, supporting customers and partners, and expanding the company’s footprint across the German market. Integrasys announced the opening of the new office on June 9.
The aim is to strengthen Integrasys’ presence across Europe. The new office represents a significant step in the company’s international growth strategy and will serve as a hub for expanding relationships with government organizations, defense stakeholders, industry partners, and technology companies throughout Germany and the wider European region.
“Germany is playing an increasingly important role in the future of European defense, space, and secure communications technologies. The opening of our Berlin office reflects our long-term commitment to the German market and our ambition to work even more closely with customers, partners, and institutions across the region,” Alvaro Sanchez Garcia de Viedma, CEO of Integrasys, said in a statement.
In a separate piece of news, Safran Electronics & Defense is to open a new center of excellence in Ludwigsburg, Germany. The new site is set to be operational in early 2028 and will be equipped with enhanced industrial capabilities to support the growth of the company’s business in Germany.
This new facility will strengthen the production and maintenance capacities of its nearby Murr facility, which is primarily dedicated to fiber optic gyroscopes (FOG) and PNT (position, navigation, timing) equipment used on both civil and military platforms. It will also incorporate new capabilities for the production and maintenance of portable optronic equipment. The company will invest 50 million euros ($57.6 million) in the new defense facility in Ludwigsburg.
