Space Information Sharing and Analysis Center (Space ISAC) entered into a partnership with the NASA Space Communication and Navigation (SCaN) program on Thursday to facilitate critical information sharing between government and the private sector on threats and vulnerabilities affecting space systems. The objective of the partnership runs parallel to Space ISAC’s mission to ensure security for space assets.

Space ISAC said the collaboration would leverage new threat intelligence capabilities, enhanced information sharing platforms, and advanced security frameworks to protect space systems.

“This agreement with NASA represents a groundbreaking step in fortifying the security of space operations. By working together, we are taking proactive measures to protect critical space infrastructure and ensure the security and resilience of the space industry,”  Space ISAC Executive Director, Erin Miller said in the partnership announcement. Miller was recently nominated for Via Satellite‘s 2024 Executive of the Year Award.

“This agreement marks a crucial step in strengthening the security posture of the space sector,” said Kevin Coggins, deputy associate administrator for Space Communications and Navigation at NASA. “Through this partnership, NASA is committed to sharing expertise and collaborating with Space ISAC to safeguard critical space infrastructure. By working together as one team, we enhance our collective ability to protect and defend space systems against evolving threats.”
