Contrivian has completed its merger with networking software company Big Network in a move that the company says creates a vertically integrated, multi-modal connectivity platform. The merger was first announced in February.
Contrivian has an offering called the “Contrivian Constellation,” in which it orchestrates together multiple Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations into a connectivity service. The company says it includes Starlink, additional LEO networks, and terrestrial connectivity in a managed platform.
The Big Network transaction brought the company’s networking software into the Contrivian tech portfolio. The company says the technology allows it to manage multiple connections and route traffic continuously routed across different paths.
“Nobody else has this software, because nobody else built it for this. The Big Network software was engineered from the ground up for intelligent, multimodal, mission-critical connectivity, and it now lives inside our platform and nowhere else. Software, hardware, carrier and engineering now work as one system,” Contrivian founder and CEO Grant Kirkwood commented.
Contrivian said it is able to support enterprise and government customers across more than 160 countries through a network of more than 600 carrier relationships.
