Starlink services are now available in Kazakhstan, a country with a population of around 20 million people. Starlink announced availability in the country on Aug. 13. This comes after the country’s Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry reached an agreement with Starlink in June for access to the country’s market.

IEC Telecom Group, one of Starlink’s global distributors, has been present in Kazakhstan for over 20 years, and will play a key role in the launch of these services. IEC Telecom Kazakhstan will soon deliver its full suite of Starlink offerings to local customers.

In 2023 and 2024, Starlink was successfully tested in rural schools across Kazakhstan. The pilot confirmed the technical readiness of such solutions for large-scale adoption. Service tariffs will be announced in fall of 2025. IEC Telecom said the launch of Starlink’s network aims will contribute to regional digitalization including online education, stimulating small business growth with e-commerce and point-of-sale payments, and enabling large enterprises in remote regions to work with cloud systems.

IEC Telecom’s Starlink portfolio includes integrated solutions for regional digitalization, GSM backhaul, connectivity for remote enterprises, and maritime communications.

“The development of digitalization in Kazakhstan serves as an example not only for Central Asia but for other regions worldwide. IEC Telecom Kazakhstan is ready to participate in this process and to launch new projects in the country, drawing on our international experience in implementing Starlink-based solutions. It is not only a matter of know-how — as a direct Starlink partner, we have prepared special tariffs for Kazakhstan,” Nabil Ben Soussia, chief commercial officer of IEC Telecom Group, said in a statement.
