Eutelsat Group has a new agreement in place for connectivity services in India with Nelco Limited, a Tata Group company. Nelco will offer Eutelsat Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) connectivity for land, maritime, and aviation markets in India under a new agreement announced Monday.
Nelco is a satellite services provider and one of India’s leading VSAT providers, serving industries like banking and oil and gas markets. The company also has an agreement with Telesat Lightspeed.
Eutelsat said the agreement strengthens its “strategic footprint” in India. According to Eutelsat, Nelco will be able to offer OneWeb services to its customers as soonOneWeb LEO services are commercially operational in India. The services will support secure government and enterprise applications.
“This partnership marks a significant step in enabling reliable, secure, and high-speed communication solutions based on LEO services for critical sectors across land, sea, and air. It reflects our strategy to provide comprehensive multi-orbit satellite connectivity services for advancing India’s digital ecosystem and supporting the country’s strategic communication needs,” commented Nelco CEO P J Nath.
