Eutelsat Group and Nigerian satellite operator Nigcomsat entered a multi-year agreement to deliver Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) satellite services in Nigeria, Eutelsat announced Jan. 23.

The multi-million-dollar deal leverages the OneWeb LEO network to provide high-speed, low-latency connectivity across various sectors, including government, enterprises, and underserved communities. The companies said the partnership aims to improve remote communications, mobile connectivity and offshore operations, addressing connectivity challenges in Nigeria.

Nigcomsat’s managing director and CEO, Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, commented: “This partnership is a milestone for Nigcomsat, enabling us to bridge Nigeria’s digital divide through the cutting-edge capabilities of OneWeb LEO satellites. Together, we will deliver scalable, reliable connectivity solutions to foster growth across government services, businesses and communities nationwide.”
