Hellas Sat Signs Romanian Capacity Deal

Hellas Sat has signed a new capacity deal in Romania. The company announced Oct. 27 that Kanal D has signed a long-term agreement for satellite distribution of Kanal D TV in Romania. Kanal D is one of the most popular general TV channels in Romania. Romania has a population of just under 20 million people.

Kanal D’s primary satellite feed will be delivered nationwide from Hellas Sat’s position at 39 degrees East. Hellas Sat is a subsidiary of Arabsat and is based in Greece and Cyprus. Hellas Sat operates three satellites delivering video, broadband and data services in Europe, Middle East and Southern Africa.

This long-term agreement demonstrates Hellas Sat’s commitment to serving Romanian TV broadcasters and DTH operators with one of the most powerful satellite systems in the region.
