In anticipation of CABSAT 2018 next week, we look back at Via Satellite’s first-ever video coverage from CABSAT 2009. That year, two rival DTH platforms, Orbit Communications Company and Showtime Arabia, merged to form Orbit Showtime Network (OSN), the largest pay-TV operator in the region. In this interview from March 2009, we talked to Mike Whittaker, vice president of broadcast operations and technology for Showtime Arabia, about the market in the Middle East and how the operator intended to bring better services to customers in the region.
