[Via Satellite 05-16-2016] Yahsat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tele10 Group, a regional broadcast and Internet Service Provider (ISP), to discuss collaborations for improving Internet connectivity in Rwanda, Burundi and East Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The MoU comes ahead of Yahsat taking delivery of its third satellite, Al Yah 3, from manufacturer Orbital ATK. The launch of Yahsat’s upcoming satellite will see the roll out of the company’s YahClick broadband service to 19 new markets in Africa during the first half of 2017.

Tele10 has been serving the East African region for 20 years by providing diverse solutions including pay-TV, radio broadcasting, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services. In 2017, the company will grow its portfolio to offer the YahClick Ka-band broadband products, services and value-added solutions to its existing customer base as well as new customers. As Yahsat works toward expanding its coverage area across the African continent, the company is in talks with local service providers to reinforce the presence of YahClick and strengthen its customer care.
