[Via Satellite 09-03-13] O3b Networks entered a long-term capacity deal to provide high-speed, low-latency capacity to the Palau National Communications Corporation (PNCC) and the Federated States of Micronesia Telecommunications Corporation (FSMTC). The deal is expected to add to O3b’s growing presence in the Pacific region.

Under the agreement, O3b will deliver affordable and ubiquitous bandwidth with the performance and speed of fiber, that will provide improved connectivity, benefiting both private and corporate customers in the region.

“We are very pleased that the O3b solution could be achieved for Palau through PNCC’s partnership with FSMTC, and look forward to offering more satisfying, higher quality services to our customers after it’s implemented in early 2014,” said Richard Misech, general manager, PNCC. “The O3b solution is a good alternative solution for Palau. Since it has much lower up-front costs and a shorter start-up period than fiber cable, O3b will enable PNCC to improve the quality of service to its customers sooner than otherwise would have been the case.”
