[Satellite TODAY 02-19-2012] The World Teleport Association (WTA) has ranked Mexico-based Elara Comunicaciones as the second fastest growing teleport in 2012. Each year, the WTA recognizes the Top Teleport Operators around the world based on revenue in the most recent fiscal years. Elara was the only Latin America-based teleport operator in this year’s report.

    Elara offers satellite telecommunication services for mobile operators, as well as companies in the oil and gas, maritime, mining and other industries. The company has VSATs installed and operating in private and public companies, as well as in government organizations. Elara’s teleport is located in Mexico City, and it provides services throughout Mexico, Latin America, Canada, and the United States.

    Elara Comunicaciones also ranked 19th among the “Independent Top Twenty,” a ranking based on revenue from all Independent Operators that do no own or operate satellites.
