[Satellite TODAY 05-05-12] Vizada and SRH Marine Electronics have signed a two-year agreement with Greek maritime company Danaos Shipping to equip the company’s fleet of vessels with a full broadband communications system, Vizada announced May 4.
The partners will provide one-gigabit connectivity over Thrane & Thrane Sailor FleetBroadband terminals, which will be provided by SRH and then further enhanced by Vizada’s XChange and Crew PC platforms.
“In this difficult period, having a reliable cost-effective solution onboard is vital for our business,” Danaos IT Manager Vassilis Fotinias said in a statement. “Through Vizada XChange, I can control and monitor the on-board IT infrastructure remotely. If this can be combined with crew welfare solutions, such as Crew PC, you can increase your business.”
Financial details of the order were not confirmed.
