T-VIPS Introduces New DVB-T/T2 Solution for DTH Operators

[Satellite TODAY 03-06-12] Digital terrestrial TV solutions developer T-VIPS has launched its CP330 T2 Bridge solution, which aims to enable efficient regional adaption in DVB-T/T2 single frequency networks, the company announced March 5.

T-VIPS said the CP330 unit makes it possible to reuse a DTH satellite signal to directly feed terrestrial transmitters. The T2 Bridge portion enables the distribution of signals to digital terrestrial transmitters using satellite or hybrid infrastructures.
“Up until now DVB-T2 operators have been unable to effectively utilize DTH satellite signals for primary distribution to SFN transmitter sites. That changes with the launch of the T-VIPS CP330,” T-VIPS CEO Johnny Dolvik said in a statement. “With support for PLP replacement and deterministic re-multiplexing, T-VIPS solves the issues of localizing a DTT offering while maximizing efficiency through SFN operation. Most important of all the CP330 allows operators to do this at the same time as utilizing the DTH satellite signal.”
