[Satellite TODAY 02-16-12]  Spacecom, the Israeli satellite operator, has revealed details of a key customer on its AMOS-5 satellite. The AMOS-5 satellite was successfully launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan in December. The operator announced Feb. 15 that IO Sat, a provider of satellite broadband data services for small and medium size businesses, is one of the first customers providing its services on the AMOS-5 communications satellite.

            IO Sat is utilizing capacity on the satellite’s C-band beam to offer an array of data, voice and video applications to clients requiring services in Africa.
