[Satellite TODAY 12-19-11] Single-source, secure machine-to-machine (M2M) products and services provider Numerex will send the company’s Chairman and CEO Stratton Nicolaides to serve on the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) board of directors after his election to the position, the company announced Dec. 16.
   TIA is a trade association representing manufacturers and suppliers of global communications networks through standards development, policy and advocacy, business opportunities, market intelligence, events and networking. The TIA board consists of senior executives from technology companies who provide direction and guidance to the association.
   “This election honors Numerex, and reflects well on our organization,” Nicolaides said in a statement. “Effective standards are critical to the growth of the M2M industry, and TIA is well positioned to accelerate the pace of global M2M standardization.
