[Satellite TODAY 12-19-11] Motion control technology developer Moog Inc. has acquired Netherlands-based satellite equipment manufacturer Bradford in an all-cash deal worth $13.1 million, Moog confirmed Dec. 16.
The acquisition is expected to add about $10.5 million to Moog’s sales during the remainder of its fiscal year that runs through September 2012. “The acquisition is not expected to have an impact on the company’s profits during the current fiscal year, excluding accounting adjustments,” Moog said in a company announcement.
Bradford, which develops and builds satellite attitude and orbit control subsystems, as well as propulsion and thermal subsystems and components, will be merged with its now parent entity to complement the offerings of Moog’s satellite component business.
In a statement, Moog Space and Defense Group President Jay Hennig said the deal would significantly strengthen its regional market presence. “We believe there is a strong demand for their products in the United States, and we will now have an established manufacturing base for space components in Europe.”
