[Satellite TODAY 10-10-11] Global satellite communications provider NSSL Global has brought its spot beam on the SES NSS6 satellite online to support shipping in South East Asia and increase its satellite communications coverage, NSSL Global announced Oct. 7.
The new beam will be supported from NSSL Global’s Cyprus hub, providing additional capacity and beam and hub redundancy for maritime users along busy shipping routes in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. NSSL Global already operates a global DVBS2-RCS network, providing leading edge communications solutions.
“South East Asia is one of the busiest shipping regions on the planet and a key region for our customers. With the ever-increasing bandwidth needs of customers, it makes sense for NSSL Global to be able to increase our capacity as well as plan for the future. As NSSL Global continues to grow we anticipate the desires of customers will be focused on higher speed broadband connections, delivered over a world-class infrastructure and backed by superior support,” NSSL Global COO Sally Anne Ray said in a statement.
