[Satellite TODAY 08-29-11] Amino Communications is set to demonstrate its over-the-top (OTT) IPTV set-top boxes at the IBC Trade Show in September, the company announced Aug. 26.
The IPTV devices use both HLS live streaming and HTML5 formats to deliver content over open and unmanaged networks. The devices select optimum network speeds to guarantee continuous quality rates during use. Amino said the devices also deliver video-on-demand and live TV from aggregated and cloud-based services without requiring extra network-infrastructure investment and can be remotely and automatically upgraded with the latest available firmware.
“While our Freedom products can target new or existing cable, satellite or terrestrial deployments, our new Aminet range can now deliver an exciting OTT content layer to the IPTV market — a feature our customers now see as critical for the next phase of service deployment," Amino CEO Andrew Burke said in a statement.
