[Satellite TODAY 06-13-11] Canadian-based satellite equipment manufacturer Advantech Wireless has renewed its supply contract with an unnamed Chinese satellite communication provider operating in all 26 provinces for a fifth year, Advantech announced June 10.
     Advantech Wireless said it would be delivering VSAT equipment, including new DVB-RCS VSAT hubs, solid-state block up converters, frequency converters and high-power amplifiers to the customer in 2011.
    “This provider supplies communication capabilities in industries including entertainment, hospitality, Internet and cellular backhaul. They also are a vital government partner during emergencies and disaster recovery, enabling essential communication to be established quickly. This contract renewal is a milestone for Advantech Wireless as it represents over half a decade of partnering with this satellite communications service provider,” Advantech said in a company statement.
