[Satellite TODAY 06-06-11] Globalstar subsidiary Spot launched its “Connect, Connect, Wherever U R” summer promotion, which will see eligible consumers receive 100 free “type and send” messages when they register for annual service at a price of $30, the company announced June 3.
Spot Connect customers with the type and send message bundle will be allowed to send custom messages from their smartphone device over the Globalstar satellite network to their personal contacts, a rescue coordination center or selected social networks, the company said.
“The ability to personalize messages in real-time and send it from remote areas is a revolutionary new feature. Our Spot Connect promotion offers this free to consumers during the active summer months and supports our retail partners during a key purchasing period,” Spot Spokesman Steve Smits said in a statement.
