[Satellite TODAY 05-16-11] Satellite broadband communications solutions provider NorsatInternational named James Topham to its Board of Directors after the company’s shareholders approved his nomination, Norsat announced May 13.

Topham also has been appointed chair of Norsat’s Audit Committee, replacing Margaret Good who did not seek re-election. Norsat said Topham would be responsible for supervising company operations that pursue additional growth opportunities.

Topham previously served as CFO of dPoint Technologies — an energy recovery and fuel cell company — and as a director of technology companies Day4 Energy and Epic Data.

            In a company announcement, Norsat Chairman Fabio Doninelli highlighted Topham’s experience in, “the financial operations of private and publicly traded companies and also has expertise in mergers and acquisitions.”
