[Satellite TODAY 04-27-11] Integral Systems received an authorization to proceed from Orbital Sciences to provide the major ground segment elements for the Mexsat-3 satellite program currently under construction by Boeing Space & Intelligence Systems, Integral announced April 26.
Integral Systems will provide primary and backup satellite control centers incorporating its Epoch Integrated Product Suite, as well as executable satellite procedures and displays. Integral Systems also will provide primary and backup telemetry, tracking and control stations located in Mexico and deliver its Compass Network Management System from its Newpoint Technologies subsidiary.
The three-satellite, turnkey geomobile Mexsat satellite system aims to provide fixed satellite services to the Mexican Federal Government.
“Our long-standing partnership with Orbital will provide the Mexsat-3 program with an efficient and cost-effective satellite ground system in a fraction of the deployment time commonly required. The combination of Epoch IPS, Compass and Monics brings the power of three industry-leading, commercial-based command and control, equipment monitoring and interference monitoring and detection systems together to support the Mexsat program’s needs now and in the future,” Integral Systems Vice President of American Operations Mark Schmitt said in a statement.
