[Satellite TODAY 04-01-11] Multi-screen digital TV service specialist Verimatrix has acquired German DVB conditional access (developer and long-term technology partner) Comvenient for an undisclosed amount, Verimatrix announced March 31.
Verimatrix said the acquisition aims to expand the company’s ability to penetrate the conditional access market and provide seamless integration and co-marketing of Comvenient’s DVB technology and expertise within Verimatrix’s multi-network solutions architecture.
Comvenient first entered into a strategic relationship with Verimatrix in November 2008 to generate cross-product synergies. Verimatrix said it would market an extended range of DVB solutions within Comvenient’s conditional access product family throughout the acquisition process.
Comvenient CEO Hubert Kukla will serve as Verimatrix’s executive vice president of strategic initiatives following the close of the acquisition.
