[Satellite TODAY 03-30-11] Middle East regional operator Measat Satellite Systems signed an agreement with Global Crossing to distribute Setanta Sports via the Measat-3a satellite at 91.5 degrees East, Measat announced March 29.
    Setanta is an international sports broadcaster serving Ireland, Canada, Australia, Asia and Africa. The broadcaster owns and operates premium sports TV channels made available on a subscription basis to residential and commercial customers through satellite, cable, broadband and mobile distribution.
   “With Setanta Sports bringing the number of sports channels on the Measat-3/3a video platform to eight, 91.5 degrees East is fast becoming the prime location for quality sports content in the region,” Measat Director of Broadcast Services Jarod Lopez said in a statement.
Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
