[Satellite TODAY 03-11-11] Harris Corp. has acquired key infrastructure assets from telecom and wide-area network integrator Core180‘s government business based in Fairfax, Va., Harris announced March 10.
The acquired infrastructure will become part of Harris CapRock Communications to expand the subsidiary’s terrestrial network infrastructure and its ability to offer fully managed, end-to-end communication services for both government and commercial customers.
Harris also acquired Core180’s proprietary carrier agnostic network as a service platform, which it will use to enable customers to extend their networks while providing more network choices and lowering upfront investments. The company said the acquisition includes 50 terrestrial networking experts based in Core180’s New York and
Washington, D.C. offices, along with a network operations center.
