[Satellite TODAY 03-08-11] DVB-RCS satellite network systems provider STM Group has introduced two SatLink Hub systems for private VSAT networks at small and medium enterprises and for entry-level requirements at larger enterprises, the company announced March 7.
The SatLink Hub 9100 SE and 9200 SE aim to provide non-redundant or fully redundant hub configuration options that are fully compliant with DVB-RCS standards and employ standards-based OpenHub architecture.
"The SatLink Hub 9100 SE and 9200 SE will allow satellite system resellers to offer the full benefits of DVB-RCS networking for small private networks that were previously available only to larger enterprises and teleport operators. Today, many smaller networks use SCPC links or less efficient TDM/TDMA systems. With the advanced modems, dynamic bandwidth on demand, quality of service and IP stack compression features built-in to every SatLink Hub and VSAT, smaller network operators can now save 30 [percent] to 60 percent off their annual operating expenses," STM Group Spokesman Rick Forberg said in a statement.
