[Satellite TODAY 01-31-11] OmniGlobe has deployed XipLink’s XA optimization technology to reduce bandwidth requirements and provide customers with improved connectivity performance, XipLink announced Jan. 28.
    The XipLink offering, which uses compression techniques and user experience improvement through two-way TCP acceleration, includes its XA-30K hub device and XA-2000 appliances. The XA-30K uses XipLink hub optimizations to further reduce bandwidth and speed up Internet connectivity.
    “There were many determining factors in OmniGlobe’s decision to select XipLink. The initial goal was to acceleration the satellite links to achieve full utilization and maximum responsiveness for users. The second goal was to ensure the service is as competitive as possible, by using compression and other techniques.
