[Satellite TODAY 01-26-11] Iridium Communications signed agreements with five value-added partners to market Iridium’s data solutions for the mobile machine-to-machine (M2M) sector, the mobile operator announced Jan. 25.
    Cobham subsidiary ACR Electronics, GPS solutions provider DeLorme, M2M developer Digi International, telecommunications specialist Kore Telematics and GPS location services company Xact Technology were added to Iridium’s list of short-burst data partnerships.
    “The companies will leverage Iridium’s global, low-latency, two-way satellite data links and our next-generation Iridium 9602 SBD transceiver to create innovative, low-cost M2M solutions for broad-based government, commercial and consumer markets,” Iridium’s Executive Vice President of Global Distribution Channels Greg Ewert said in a statement.
