[Satellite TODAY 11-09-10] France Télévisions has installed and deployed a disaster recovery solution from Thomson Video Networks (TVN), which includes TVN’s Sapphire broadcast servers and ProConsultant Informatique’s Louise broadcast management software, TVN announced Nov. 8.
TVN and ProConsultant Informatique collaborated on the project to develop a disaster recovery system that could provide backup for 19 channels at the French national broadcaster’s headquarters in Paris.
The Sapphire servers support MPEG-2 and H.264 formats, re-encoding audio and video dynamically to provide seamless frame-accurate transitions and character generator functionality.
