[Satellite TODAY 10-26-10] The Indian Patent Office issued a patent to Sensio Technologies that covers its S2D switch in India, Sensio announced Oct. 25.
The Sensio S2D switch aims to enable consumers to view 3-D material in 2-D, extending their accessibility to content viewed on 3D-enabled TVs. Sensio said the technology also allows the converted 2D content to be switched back to 3D.
Sensio is working to hold a global patent for the device. The company already holds a patent for the product in the United States and has patents pending with the European Patent Office as well as with patent offices in Japan and China.
