[Satellite TODAY 10-08-10] Telecoms and broadcast performance indicator research issued Oct. 7 by The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) finds that there were more than 23 million DTH subscribers in India at the end of June.
The 23.8 million total DTH subscribers are now split among six DTH operators.
TRAI also found there were about 9.5 million broadband subscribers at the end of June, which makes up more than half of India’s 16.5 million total Internet subscribers. about 87 percent of these broadband subscribers are using DSL technology, the report said.
