[Satellite TODAY 10-02-10] Euronews signed a deal with Viasat Broadcasting to launch the Euronews channel on a number of satellite pay-TV platforms across the Nordic and Baltic region, the broadcaster announced Sept. 30.
The channel is being broadcasted from the Viasat satellite platform on the Astra 4A satellite to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in English and Russian and in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden in English. Euronews said other languages may be added in the future.
With this agreement and the August 2009 launch on Viasat Ukraine in nine languages, Euronews now is available in 890,000 Viasat households in eight countries.
