[Satellite TODAY 08-24-10] McDonald Technologies International and SatMax have entered into a strategic alliance to offer enhanced services to the ground-based satellite communications industry, the two companies announced Aug. 23.
    The alliance concerns the engineering, manufacturing and support services associated with SatMax ground-based, non-line-of-sight satellite voice and data communications products. The alliance aims to help the two companies better serve key target markets in aircraft manufacturers and maintenance providers.
    In a statement, SatMax CEO Don Bresina said the alliance is vital for business growth. “This alliance is a high point for us. We have been looking for a solution to keep our size from bottle-necking our ability to grow the business. Having access to McDonald Technologies’ industry-recognized RF engineering and manufacturing capabilities provides us with the opportunity to quickly scale our business and dramatically expands our own engineering, manufacturing and customer response capabilities.”
    “This alliance has been designed to provide best in class products and services to SatMax satellite voice and data communications customers. By leveraging the expertise of both organizations, we have developed a model that is scalable and focuses on setting the standard in non-line-of-sight avionics testing,” McDonald Technologies Vice President Jim Crocco said in a statement.
