[Satellite TODAY 07-22-10] Eutelsat has named former EchoStar Senior Vice President of Space Programs David Bair CTO, effective immediately, the company announced July 20.
At EchoStar, Bair instituted a new flight operations group to fly its own satellites, and the EchoStar fleet grew from five to 14 spacecraft. Bair has also worked for Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems and General Electric AstroSpace among other companies.
This is a second major executive move that the company has announced in less than three weeks as the operator appointed Andrew Wallace, an ex-Pace executive as its new CCO on July 2. Michel de Rosen became the operator’s new CEO in July 2009.
