[Satellite TODAY 07-05-10] DirecTV and its 3-D technology partner, Panasonic, have launched three new 3-D channels on DirecTV’s pay-TV platform, the companies announced July 2.
One of the channels, n3D, will be available to customers at no extra charge. The channel will feature 24-hour coverage of live music and sporting events in 3-D.
The other two channels will include DirecTV Cinema in 3-D and a video-on-demand version of n3D. DirecTV Cinema will offer IMAX programming, which includes replays of ESPN’s 3-D coverage of the 2010 World Cup.
