[Satellite TODAY 04-29-10] Thrane & Thrane is renaming its Aero SB SwiftBroadband terminal product line, the company announced April 28.

    The product line’s new name is Aviator, which Thrane & Thrane said was implemented to appeal to Inmarsat SwiftBroadband users in the business and commercial aircraft communication sectors.

    The new Aviator brand name will be followed by a numeric descriptor, reflecting the level of SwiftBroadband service that the terminal will be used for and the product variation designated by Thrane & Thrane. Aviator 300 will replace Aero SB Lite, Aviator 350 will replace the Aero SB Lite with high gain antenna and the Aviator 700 will replace the Aero SB plus.

    Thrane & Thrane said no technical changes would be made to the product line.
