[Satellite TODAY 03-30-10] Harbinger Capital Partners has completed its acquisition of SkyTerra Communications, the operator announced March 29.
    The transaction, initially announced in September, was accomplished through a merge with a Harbinger affiliate for approximately $262.5 million in cash. The all-cash merger represents an approximately 56 percent premium over the average closing price of SkyTerra’s common stock for the 30 days ending Sept. 22.
    “After taking into account SkyTerra’s outstanding debt and securities held by Harbinger’s affiliates, the transaction represents a total enterprise value of approximately $1.84 billion,” the companies said in a statement.
