[Satellite TODAY 03-29-10] Arianespace has postponed the launch of SES’ Astra 3B satellite due to an anomaly that occurred in a launcher subsystem, the operator announced March 26.
The launch was originally scheduled for March 26. Arianespace said it would execute the necessary technical replacements, postponing the launch for several days. The launch vehicle and its payload, the Astra 3B and ComsatBw-2 satellites, have been placed in stand-by mode.
Once launched, the new Astra 3B satellite, built by EADS Astrium, will be placed at the 23.5 degrees East orbital slot for SES.
