[Satellite TODAY 03-04-10] Qatar Telecom (QTel), a licensed telecom operator for the state or Qatar, signed a contract to take capacity on the Intelsat 15 (IS-15) satellite, Intelsat announced March 3.
QTel will use the capacity to expand international call capacity and for Ku-band coverage that will enable QTel to expend its broadband services in areas where there is no terrestrial infrastructure in place.
Details of the contract were not disclosed.
