[Satellite TODAY 01-20-10] GlobeCast has contracted Net Insight to upgrade Globecast’s media contribution network in Paris to the Net Insights Nimbra 680 platform, Net Insight announced Jan. 19.
The first phase of the upgrade will interconnect multiple GlobeCast sites in Paris with use of 10 gigabits-per-second STM-64 links in order to handle simultaneous transport of uncompressed and compressed HD and SD video.
The Nimbra equipment will be delivered during the 2010 first quarter. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
