[Satellite TODAY 01-08-10] Newtec is set to deploy new Ka-band ready Sat3Play broadband terminals and hub equipment to the commercial market, the company announced Jan. 7.
    The new terminal includes Newtec’s 4CPM modulation and coding scheme, which aims to increase the speed and bandwidth efficiency of the return link. Sat3Play can also be combined with Voice-over-IP and DTH television services for the commercial, maritime, energy, transport and security markets.
     “The product is ideal for satellite service providers who wish to launch a Ka-band based broadband service or for satellite service providers who wish to migrate, at some point in time, their Ku-band based network towards Ka-band.” Newtec CEO Serge Van Herck said in a statement.
