[Satellite TODAY 12-07-09] Boeing has shipped the DirecTV 12 to the Baikonur Cosmodrome launch facility in Kazakhstan in preparation for its launch next year, Boeing announced.
The Boeing 702 model satellite is scheduled for launch by International Launch Services on Dec. 29. DirecTV 12 is expected to be operational in three to six months after liftoff. DirecTV 12 aims to increase the broadcaster’s national HD channel capacity to 200.
