[Satellite TODAY 10-16-09] More than 50,000 of SkyWave Mobile Communications’ North American GlobalWave customers have migrated to the Inmarsat network for satellite-based asset tracking, monitoring and control applications, SkyWave announced Oct. 15.
The GlobalWave MT series terminal users, operating in Canada, the United States and Mexico, were transferred to the Inmarsat-4 Americas satellite.
The GlobalWave MT series satellite terminals use a proprietary GPS receiver that offers low power consumption for extended battery life in untethered machine-to-machine applications.
