Ateme, a French compression company, has signed a deal with U.S pay-TV company DirecTV, to supply 1080p video compression solutions and improvements to DirecTV’s Video-on-Demand (VoD) service, Ateme announced Sept. 7.
“The Ateme solution is a significant step for us in bringing pristine 1080p quality to our customers, who have come to expect only the best from us. Ateme has tremendously improved our quality of service,” said Hanno Basse, vice president of broadcast systems engineering for DirecTV.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
