[Satellite TODAY 09-11-09] Ondas Media has created a new operational base in Paris, the company announced Sept. 10.
Ondas will create an integrated, digital satellite transmission network to broadcast its multi-lingual radio, music, video and data services directly to French and European customers.
“We are of course deeply committed to a true pan-European service and a significant market already exists for us in France with our Renault relationship and many other ties,” said Dave Krueger, CEO of Ondas Media, in a statement.
Ondas appointed Benoit Chéreau as the new facility’s senior vice president of business development and Alain Kervizic as director of content for automotive services.
Kervizic comes to Ondas from automotive GPS unit manufacturer TomTom. Chéreau previously served as CEO of Worldspace Europe, which filed for bankruptcy in October 2008.
“As former CEO of Worldspace Europe, Chéreau has a deep understanding and passion for the massive potential that is European satellite radio. His extensive previous experience in managing subscriber services at Bouygues Telecom combined with the valuable lessons learned at Worldspace Europe will be critical to ONDAS as we further develop our content offering, manage customer relations and work within the regulatory frameworks in France and the rest of Europe moving forward,” said Krueger.
