[Satellite TODAY 09-09-09] EMS Satcom has combined its Tracking and Messaging, Search and Rescue and its recently acquired Satamatics business units to create EMS Global Tracking, which will supply a combined suite of tracking and personnel recovery systems to both military and civilian markets, the company announced Sept. 8.
The new division will offers global tracking and messaging solutions for force-tracking, low-data rate and machine-to-machine (M2M) tracking for NGOs, maritime users, search-and-rescue and personnel recovery systems operating over Inmarsat, Iridium, SkyTerra, and Cospas-Sarsat satellite constellations.
Dino Koutrouki is the new division’s general manager. “As a larger functional group with a more expansive portfolio of products, and new capabilities … we are leveraging our market-leading products to focus on providing our customers with complete solutions that include airtime, advanced applications, and superior support,” said Koutrouki, in a statement.
