[Satellite TODAY 09-07-09] Thrane & Thrane won a $2.31 million gateway upgrade deal from Telecom Italia (TI), the company announced Sept. 3.
    Thrane & Thrane will provide capacity expansion for TI’s gateway at the Fucino land Earth station in Italy.
    The contract includes both hardware and software and will be delivered before the end of the year. The order enables TI to host three ocean regions for other land Earth station operators and signals the company’s growth as an active player in the Inmarsat market.
