Thaicom inaugurated its gateway in Jakarta, Indonesia, the 15th gateway in the Asia-Pacific region, Thaicom said.

    Thaicom has appointed PT Infracom Telesarana, a total solution provider for telecommunication and information technology infrastructure development in Indonesia, as the gateway operator and first service provider for Indonesia.

    “We are very optimistic that IPStar broadband services will be a success in Indonesia as it has the biggest economy with the largest population in the ASEAN [Association of Southeast Asian Nations] region and comprises of over 17,000 islands, making it ideal for satellite-based services such as IPStar,” Arak Chonlatanon, Thaicom’s CEO, said in a statement.
