Measat Satellite Systems and Classica Asia signed a five year agreement for Measat to distribute Unitel Classica HD via the Measat-3 satellite, the satellite operator announced.

    The channel features premium audiovisual classical music productions, including documentaries and live recordings. “We strongly believe in the great potential of the highly developed Asian TV market. Measat is the ideal partner to introduce and position Unitel Classica HD as the first HD-channel for classical music in the region,” Unitel Classica owner and CEO Jan Mojto said in a statement.

    Separately, Measat renewed an agreement with Celestial Movies Channel Ltd. to distribute Celestial Movies and Celestial Classic Movies on Measat-3.
    The two parties most recently signed a contract in March 2008 to distribute Celestial Classic Movies.
