[Satellite Today 06-09-09] Hughes Network Systems signed a sales agent agreement authorizing Control4 to sell HughesNet satellite broadband Internet service, Hughes announced June 8.
Control4, a home automation company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, has a network of more than 1,400 dealers in the United States and Canada. The HughesNet service will provide new opportunities for Control4 to provide its services in areas without DSL or cable broadband service.
    "Control4 is making home control a practical option for any residence," Will West, CEO of Control4, said in a statement. "However, this automation needs broadband access, and terrestrial options are not always available. We believe that HughesNet satellite broadband is a perfect complement to the products and services our dealers sell. The addition of satellite broadband to our portfolio will open up a new revenue stream for our dealers and a new sales channel for Hughes."
